Alcantara Vineyards, the first winery on the Verde River, is one of the largest vineyards in Central and Northern Arizona. Perched on 87 acres of sloping terrain at the confluence of the Verde River and Oak Creek, the 10 acres currently planted contain 9500 vines across the gently sloping shelves of limestone and rocky soil that define this portion of the snaking Verde River that bound the property on three sides.

Included is a newly constructed Tuscan-style farmhouse that serves as the tasting room for hosting the many friends and guests from around the globe that visit the vineyard and tasting room.

Page Springs Cellars is a family owned winery in the Verde Valley of central Arizona that produces wine in the tradition of the Rhone Valley, France. They primarily work with Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Mourvedre.  They also dabble with other red grapes such as Cabernet Pfeffer, Counoise, and Cinsault.

Their white grape loves include Viognier, Rousanne and Marsanne. While you may occasionally see them blending with Cabernet Franc, Barbera or Sangiovese—the flavorful grapes of the Rhone will always be their focus.

Javelina Leap Vineyard and Winery is located minutes outside of Sedona Arizona in Page Springs. The tasting room, winery & vineyard are located on the slopes of a volcanic mountain, overlooking the lush greenbelt of Oak Creek.

In the picture (at left), winemaker/ grower Rod Snapp displays a perfect clusters of Estate grown zinfandel grapes. The photo was taken August 2008.

All wines from Javelina Leap are made by Rod Snapp, one ton at a time, by hand.

Oak Creek Vineyards and Winery is located in Page Springs south of Sedona. In the higher elevations of their vineyard they are growing Syrah and Merlot, and the lower portions are home to Zinfandel and Chardonnay.

They have approximately 4000 vines planted, and produce full bodied, flavorful reds, and lean whites in small batches giving individual attention to every barrel. There is a plentiful water supply, and they have tapped directly, 425ft down into one of the purest aquifers in western Arizona.

The Jerome Winery is built on the side of Cleopatra Hill between Prescott and Sedona in the historic town of Jerome, and features over 30 uniquely handcrafted, individually distinct wines. Starting with a sassy white Zinfandel they transcend through the lighter wines such as the Pinot Grigio and Mourvedre, progressing to the more robust red Zinfandel and Syrah, finishing with the smooth Muscat and Champagne. They also reserve library wines including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Syrah, 15 year old Port, and others.

They have about 90 acres of vineyard just southeast of Willcox Arizona.

Caduceus Cellars is a tasting room located in the old copper mining town of Jerome about 25 minutes southwest of Sedona where winemakers Maynard James Keenan (the lead singer of the band Tool) and business partner Eric Glomski (owner of Page Springs Cellars) use fruit from their 66-acre Arizona Stronghold Vineyard in Willcox to make Arizona Stronghold wines.

Keenan also grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, and Malvasia Bianca grapes on the side of a cliff at his home in Jerome, named Merkin Vineyards.

Unlike Page Springs Cellars which specializes in Rhone varietals, Merkin Vineyards / Arizona Stronghold focus on Italian and Bordeaux varietals.
